On the 6th -7th of February the 4th Plenary Meeting took place in Athens at the OTE Group of Companies (HTO) premises and was hosted by Cosmote partner. We would like to thank the Project Coordinator, Michael Dieudonne and the Technical Coordinator, Pedro Merino Gomez, for the meeting coordination and their insights. All the partners had the opportunity to present their tasks and to be part of the round-table debates regarding the evolution of the project. The 2nd day was concluded with the visit at OTE Group of Companies (HTO) ‘s testbed (part of 6G-SANDBOX Athens testbed).

On the 11th of December, our project coordinator, Michael Dieudonne, from Keysight, presented 6G-SANDBOX project in the context of the SNS JU Trials Working Group Plenary Meeting.
On the 4th-8th December, IEEE GLOBECOM 2023 took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this context, Chafika Benzaid and Mohammad Farhoudi from University of Oulu, presented 5 conference papers. These papers were presented in the context of the following Sessions:

On the 25th-27th of October the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 organised by BDVA – Big Data Value Association was held in Valencia, Spain. In this context, Carles Navarro Manchón, from Keysight Technologies presented the 6G-SANDBOX project, tailored towards how 6G-SANDBOX can aid testing of use cases and technological enablers around XR and metaverse applications. A 30min panel discussion followed the presentations, with representatives of other two projects in Stream C (6G-XR and 6G-BRICKS Project) as well as a representative of the upcoming CSA OPENVERSE. The session was entitled ‘Metaverse enablers: moving towards virtual worlds (part 2)’ and it was held on the 26th.

On the 19th of October the 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗢-𝗥𝗔𝗡 𝗻𝗚𝗥𝗚 𝟲𝗚 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 was held in in Phoenix, Arizona, as a hybrid event, organised by O-RAN ALLIANCE. In this context, our Project Coordinator, Michael Dieudonne, presented 6G-SANDBOX Project with a presentation entitled ‘6𝘎-𝘚𝘈𝘕𝘋𝘉𝘖𝘟 𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮’. ‘The workshop covered a wide range of exciting topics, including Generative AI for wireless, AI meets 6G RAN, lessons learned from 5G, 6G experimental platforms, and more’

Our Project Coordinator, Michael Dieudonne , was invited as a keynote speaker, to the International Conference, 6GNet 2023, which was held in Paris, France on 18-20 October. In this context, his speech was entitled ‘A Test & Measurement Perspective on Integrating Artificial Intelligence into 6G Future Networks’ during which 6G-SANDBOX project was introduced. On the 5th-6th of October, our partner OpenNebula organized the physical event, 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯! In this context, Alfonso Carrillo Aspiazu presented an overview of 6G-SANDBOX project during the section: 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀.
The forum included ‘public and private sessions, workshops, presentations, and panel discussions around the main topics related to next-generation cloud & edge computing in Europe’.
