6G-SANDBOX at 3rd EU-TAIWAN 6G SNS Joint Workshop

On the 8th of October, during the 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗘𝗨-𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗪𝗔𝗡 𝟲𝗚 𝗦𝗡𝗦 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽, our Project Coordinator, Michael Dieudonne from Keysight presented 6G-SANDBOX in the ‘𝗘𝗨-𝗧𝗮𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻’ session and participated in the panel discussion on ‘𝟲𝗚 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.’ Additionally, Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), showcased, a new indoor sensing solution based on antennas arrays, using ray-tracing simulations integrated this year into the digital twin of the European 6G-SANDBOX Project experimentation platform.

On the 20th of March, Anastasius Gavras from partner Eurescom GmbH was invited to present the ongoing work in 6G-SANDBOX Project in the context of the 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟱𝗚/𝟲𝗚 𝗥&𝗗 (𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗥𝗜𝗧 𝟲𝗚). 4th O-RAN nGRG 6G Workshop

On the 19th of October the 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗢-𝗥𝗔𝗡 𝗻𝗚𝗥𝗚 𝟲𝗚 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 was held in in Phoenix, Arizona, as a hybrid event, organised by O-RAN ALLIANCE. In this context, our Project Coordinator, Michael Dieudonne, presented 6G-SANDBOX Project with a presentation entitled ‘6𝘎-𝘚𝘈𝘕𝘋𝘉𝘖𝘟 𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮’. ‘The workshop covered a wide range of exciting topics, including Generative AI for wireless, AI meets 6G RAN, lessons learned from 5G, 6G experimental platforms, and more’

‘The DIH has the objective to facilitate the digitalization of the European industry in the context of the Digital Europe Programme. SCoDIHNet is the network of DIHs with expertise in the domain of Smart Connectivity.

DIHs aim to develop the links between end users (industry) and technology providers, of which SNS JU projects are considered key sources.’

On Tuesday the 6th, in the context of EuCNC & 6G Summit and during the Workshop 7 ‘Aligning European NTN Convergence and Integration’, David Artuñedo from Telefonica partner, presented the 6G-SANDBOX project and the recently signed MoU with European Space Agency (ESA)  ! 6G-SANDBOX and OpenNebula co-organised

On the 8th of May OpenNebula and 6G-SANDBOX co-organized the TechDay Madrid focusing on the use of Opensource for Europe’s next-gen Edge Cloud! Many thanks to all those companies contributing to the different sessions!

In more detail, the OpenNebula Systems team, in collaboration with the 6G-SANDBOX consortium, held a hands-on workshop about using, planning, and deploying a private cloud. The workshop was divided into two parts. The first part covered the main components of a Cloud and the basics of deploying Virtual Machines (VMs). Then, the second part described more advanced concepts on storage, networking, multi tenancy, and capacity management. The workshop ended with a description of the architecture and deployment of Telefonica’s 6G-SANDBOX testbed based on OpenNebula.
