The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) and the European Space Agency are pleased to announce the joint workshop “6G-LINO: from Lab Validation to Real-World NTN Trials”, focusing on pioneering 6G experimental initiatives at the intersection of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks (TN/NTN).

The workshop will take place on Thursday, 28 May 2026, from 14:00 to 16:00 CEST and represents the first concrete step in implementing the Memorandum of Intent signed between SNS JU and ESA on 16 October 2025.

Bringing together key stakeholders from the European Commission, the 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association, and representatives from SNS JU project consortia active in TN/NTN integration, the event will explore the evolution of 6G experimentation from laboratory validation to real-world non-terrestrial network trials.

The 6G-SANDBOX project will also participate in the workshop. Project Coordinator Michael Dieudonné will deliver a short presentation highlighting the project’s work and contributions.

On the 8th of October, during the 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗘𝗨-𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗪𝗔𝗡 𝟲𝗚 𝗦𝗡𝗦 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽, our Project Coordinator, Michael Dieudonne from Keysight presented 6G-SANDBOX in the ‘𝗘𝗨-𝗧𝗮𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻’ session and participated in the panel discussion on ‘𝟲𝗚 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.’ Additionally, Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), showcased, a new indoor sensing solution based on antennas arrays, using ray-tracing simulations integrated this year into the digital twin of the European 6G-SANDBOX Project experimentation platform.
