Your Gateway to 6G Innovation: Discover the 6G-SANDBOX Project

Our project coordinator, Michael Dieudonne, just before our 2-day webinar, gives an overview of the project.

‘The 6G-SANDBOX Project is a cornerstone of Europe’s strategy to advance next-generation wireless systems. Funded by the European Commission through the SNS JU program, this initiative provides a robust environment for experimentation, integrating diverse platforms located in Athens, Berlin, Malaga, and Oulu. In this video, Michael Dieudonne explains the project’s objectives, from defining architectural frameworks and KPIs to conducting real-world trials on technologies such as non-terrestrial networks (NTN), reflective intelligent surfaces (RIS), FR3 frequency bands, and deterministic networking. With open participation and collaborative plugfests, the 6G-SANDBOX project is paving the way for groundbreaking research and industry engagement. Discover how you can join and contribute to this transformative journey toward 6G.’

Giovanni D’Amore from Keysight represents the 6G-SANDBOX at 6G-RIC Project Meeting in Berlin

On October 14–15, Giovanni D’Amore from Keysight Technologies participated in the 6G-RIC (Research and Innovation Cluster) project meeting held in Berlin. The 6G-RIC initiative brings together 32 research groups from 20 universities and research institutions, supported by over 60 associate partners from academia, industry, and the public sector. This collaborative effort is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) under the “Souverän. Digital. Vernetzt.” research program.

During the event, Giovanni delivered a presentation titled Is Wireless Layer Testing Dead? How 6G Will Change the Way We Test Networks. He highlighted the 6G-SANDBOX trial network as a robust framework for cross-layer, AI-driven, system-wide validation. The presentation also showcased the 6G-SANDBOX advancements in digital twin technology, artificial intelligence, and reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), along with a preview of the upcoming large-scale trials involving RIS and non-terrestrial networks (NTN).
